Pres Floyd

Garrett Prescott "Pres" Floyd was a fictional character on ABC's daytime drama General Hospital.

He was portrayed by actor John Bolger from 2006 replacing Billy Warlock as A.J. Quartermaine until 2012 when the character dropped off canvas and later replaced by Krys Meyer as T.J. Ashford and later Sebastian Roché as Jerry Jacks and Sean Kanan as A.J. Quartermaine before the character's death in 2014.

Storylines[]

Garrett Floyd debuted in 2006 as Mayor of Port Charles. Even though he was mayor of the town for 5 years, he is not liked by most people in Port Charles after Epiphany Johnson became the new Head Nurse at General Hospital after Audrey Hardy stepped down as Head Nurse prior to it. It was revealed in June of 2009 that he has a wife named Andrea Floyd whom he often cheated on with several different mistresses.

In February 2007; Garrett Floyd is at the site of the Metro Court Hotel hostage crisis by former Port Charles resident Jerry Jacks and his men and women along with Commissioner Mac Scorpio, district attorney Ric Lansing, and the S.W.A.T. team along with head nurse Epiphany Johnson and Dr. Russell Ford after the death of A.J. Quartermaine before he was revealed to be alive five years later. Mayor Floyd and Ric are discussing the plans to rescue the hostages because Mayor Floyd was always against violent crime. In the aftermath of the Metro Court Hotel hostage crisis after it was over; Garrett Floyd was interviewed by the press about former Port Charles resident Jerry Jacks and his accomplices as they were being arrested and lawyered up except Lorenzo Alcazar who escaped the scene of the crime to avoid capture and many people sustained injures in the rubble from the explosion in the lobby is the district attorney as Michael, Morgan, and Kristina became scared and traumatized in the aftermath along with Diane Miller; but left unharmed along with Mac, Ric, Epiphany, and Russell as well as Sonny's nephew Spencer Cassadine because he is an infant about nearly a year old. Security at Metro Court Hotel was later tightened to take more security measures. Less than three months later, Elizabeth's son Jake Spencer was born the same day that Kate Howard walked into Sonny Corinthos' office unannounced and demanded the use of a phone because her car had broken down.

On June 10, 2009; Patrick Drake, Robin Scorpio-Drake, and Olivia Falconeri walked into a room at the Metro Court Hotel to find Brianna Hughes, who was lying unconscious on the bed with Garrett. It was revealed that she was his mistress and Garrett told the trio that she bumped her head while they were having sexual relations in the shower. Brianna was taken to General Hospital and days later she died in surgery.

Robin, Patrick, Damian Spinelli, Maxie Jones, and Sam McCall then set out to investigate the true cause of her death. Patrick and Robin had their suspicions that Brianna had actually been murdered by Garrett in an attempt to cover up their affair, and Garrett quickly became a suspect in her murder.

On December 6, 2011; Garrett comes into Jake's with Diane Miller who had been traumatized over four years ago, saying he has resigned from being mayor and is now the owner and editor-in-chief of the local newspaper, the Port Charles Press, formerly the Port Charles Herald. In June of 2012, Todd Manning from Llanview bought the Port Charles Press from Pres and turned it into his tabloid The Sun after T.J. Ashford came into Port Charles.
