Olivia Jerome

Olivia Jerome was a fictional character on the ABC soap opera General Hospital. She is the daughter of the late mob boss Victor Jerome.

She was portrayed by soap vet Tonja Walker from April 1, 1988 to March 12, 1990 before being replaced by Cesar Faison portrayed by Anders Hove a week later.

Walker returned as Olivia from January 17 to March 23, 2017 nearly 27 years later replacing Cesar Faison and Johnny Zacchara before being replaced by two unknown actors as Chris and Paul Gentry a week later before the characters' arrest and imprisonment, then later Chloe Lanier as Nelle Benson before the character's death three years later in 2020, Ryan Paevey as Nathan West before the character's death nearly a year later in 2018, and later Anders Hove returned as Faison a year later in 2018 before the character's death at the same time as Nathan's death.

Casting[]

The role was originated by Tonja Walker in 1988 and she left in 1990; she was known for being a villain.

On January 17, 2017; Walker made a surprise return to GH when Olivia was revealed to be alive 27 years later replacing Anders Hove as Cesar Faison.

On February 6, 2017; Soap Opera Digest revealed that Walker has wrapped her return trip to GH but will air through mid March.

She made her last appearance on March 23, 2017 before being replaced by two unknown actors as Chris and Paul Gentry a week later, then Chloe Lanier as Nelle Benson and Ryan Paevey as Nathan West, and later Anders Hove returned as Faison a year later in 2018.

On November 13, 2022; a rumor suggested that Walker could return to GH as Olivia Jerome, but nothing has been confirmed.

Storylines[]

On January 17, 2017; it was revealed that she is alive nearly 27 years later and the head of the Jerome mob family three years after Cesar Faison fled Port Charles and the PCPD was no longer looking for him and a year after Johnny Zacchara was sent back to Pentonville. She also ordered the hit that killed Morgan Corinthos.

Later, the guards from D'Archam arrive to take Olivia away. They drag her off as she pleads for help. One week later, the armed robbery at the Floating Rib takes place involving revenge for Olivia by Valentin and Olivia's new accomplices Chris and Paul Gentry after she was sent to a mental asylum. They were later arrested and lawyered up with Henry Sullivan representing them just like Nora Buchanan representing Olivia Jerome. Unlike Olivia who was unfit to stand trial, the Gentry brothers were fit to stand trial and they were sentenced to life in prison without parole by the same judge.

On November 11, 2022 after the crime at the Metro Court Hotel by Faison's men which left Mayor Janice Lomax outraged leaving Franco Baldwin and Nathan West unharmed which came Mayor Lomax's speech about the Charles Street redevelopment project before her resignation resulting the return of Faison and the arrival of Jim Harvey a month later as Jim came first in the beginning of the year a day after Erich Sydney was imprisoned, the deaths of Cesar Faison and Nathan West resulting in the earthquake a month later, Carly's torture at Ferncliff by Mary Pat Ingles and Rupert Watson leaving Spencer traumatized, the death of Hank Archer aka "Shiloh" who bore a resemblance to the late Nathan West, the death of Nelle Benson, the death of Franco Baldwin resulting in Yuri Tamashevich replacing Franco one month later, the death of Jason Morgan on Cassadine Island resulting in Jason being replaced by Johann Bauer, the death of Peter August resulting in the armed robbery at Charlie's Pub by armed robbers Eric Watson and Harry DeFranco nearly two months later, and the attacks from a female serial killer who goes by The Hook; Cyrus Renault who bores an uncanny resemblance to the late Cesar Faison tells Laura at Pentonville that he can't protect Anna if she comes to Pentonville. Olivia Jerome can't wait to roll out the red carpet for Anna when she arrives implying Olivia was moved to Pentonville where her nephew Spencer Cassadine by marriage of Nikolas and Ava is at along with her two prison friends Chris and Paul Gentry.

After the death of former General Hospital Head Nurse Epiphany Johnson on March 28, 2023 after The Hook attacks after "The Hook" is revealed to be Heather Webber; it is revealed that Olivia is living longer than Epiphany despite being four months older than Epiphany after the death of Britt Westbourne in the beginning of the year.

On February 15, 2024; Anna finds out Olivia Jerome was killed in a prison transfer. She was executed in the back of the head after being taken away by two gunmen. Anna identifies Olivia's body at the morgue. Alexis finds out and tells Ava that her sister is dead. Robin who is currently living in Berkeley is happy that Olivia is out of her life.

On March 29; it is revealed that Stone, the person suspected of killing Olivia, doesn't exist and Valentin was behind the hit as the head of Pikeman Security Group.
