Nora Hanen Buchanan is a fictional character on the ABC soap opera General Hospital.
The character was originated on the now-canceled ABC soap opera One Life to Live in 1992 by actress Hillary B. Smith.
The character made her first appearance on General Hospital on March 6, 2017 as Valentin Cassadine's lawyer before Valentin hired Martin Grey as his new lawyer on September 30, 2019.
Storylines[]
Nora is first seen talking to fellow lawyer and former District Attorney Ric Lansing (and Lulu Falconeri's lawyer in the custody case) and is revealed to be Valentin's lawyer. Nora won the case for Valentin as David Walters was absent from the court case. She also became Olivia Jerome's defense attorney after Olivia was arrested for the abduction of Robin Scorpio-Drake and Griffin Munro.
After Olivia Jerome was sentenced to a mental asylum, Nora gains another client Nelle Benson and even became friends after the armed robbery at the Floating Rib by Chris and Paul Gentry in revenge for Olivia Jerome one week after Olivia Jerome was sent to D'Archum Asylum as Henry Sullivan began to defend Chris and Paul Gentry returning the favor to her before they were sentenced to life in prison by Judge Horace Sanchez as they were fit to stand trial unlike Olivia Jerome. Her client Nelle was sent to prison for her crimes against Robin Scorpio-Drake, her longtime best friend Sonny Corinthos, and his wife Carly Corinthos.
On April 1, 2019; Nora is called in from Llanview to represent Kevin due to him withholding his brother who was considered a fugitive. She is concerned when Kevin tells her that he is going to plead guilty. Kevin changes his mind at the last minute. With the help on Lucy, Kevin is able to plead not guilty and make bail.
It is revealed that Nelle Benson left Nora for her new attorney Martin Grey as they met at Pentonville Penitentiary on September 30.
On February 15-16, 2024; Nora became devastated that her client was killed during prison transfer.
