Nurse Mary Pat Ingles was a fictional character from the ABC soap opera General Hospital.

The role was originated from June 14 to November 2, 2018.

Casting[]

Patricia Bethune joined the cast of GH as Nurse Mary Pat Ingles on June 13, 2018. She last appeared on August 2, 2018 before being replaced by Leif Gantvoort as Michael Carson and Owen Saxon as Shawn Phillips before the characters' arrest by the New York State Police.

On October 17, 2018; it was announced that Bethune would return as Mary Pat during the week of October 29 replacing Leif Gantvoort and Owen Saxon. She returned on October 26 and despite being killed off offscreen on October 30, she made her last appearance on November 2 before being replaced by Coby Ryan McLaughlin as Hank Archer aka "Shiloh".

Storylines[]

In June 2018, Mary began to watch over some of the patients at Ferncliff and later threatened Carly's neighbor in a different room after gaining Nelle Benson as her ally after Janice Lomax's resignation as Mayor of Port Charles, the deaths of Cesar Faison and Nathan West after Hayden Barnes left Port Charles.

On July 13, 2018; Carly drugged her to break out of Ferncliff and stop her son Michael from getting married to Nelle.

On Halloween 2018, Ryan Chamberlain killed Mary Pat by stabbing her to death and then decapitated her before placing her head in a barrel of apples for Carly to find. The rest of the corpse was placed in Ava Jerome's gallery after the arrests of Michael Carson and Shawn Phillips by the New York State Police because they're way out of Margaux Dawson's jurisdiction. Mary was later replaced by Hank Archer aka "Shiloh" who bore a striking resemblance to the late Nathan West later revealed to be the leader of Dawn of Day Cult.

In June 2021; a note presumably from Ryan threatens Nikolas and Ava by mentioning "Nurse Ingles"' head being cut off after the deaths of Hank Archer, Dev Cerci, and Dustin Phillips; and the arrival of Cyrus Renault.

On Halloween 2022, Avery told Sonny that Carly warned her to be careful when bobbing for apples after Avery became Victor Cassadine's step great-great niece before Victor's death and will reading in May 2023.
