Erich Sydney

Erich Sydney is a fictional character in the ABC daytime drama General Hospital.

He was played by Darren Dupree Washington from September 20, 2017 to January 2, 2018.

Storylines[]

Erich Sydney was Cassandra Pierce’s bodyguard and he followed her around everywhere after Winston Rudge testified against Julian Jerome after the brother Chris and Paul Gentry were sent to Pentonville Penitentiary by judge Horace Sanchez.

On December 28, 2017, when Valentin met with Cassandra, he angrily threw her phone as she threatened his family. Erich went to pick up the phone and found a listening device in it.

He informed Cassandra who had Erich try to beat a confession out of Valentin. Valentin claimed he didn’t know who planted the bug in the phone. Cassandra had Erich abduct Anna from her home. She was tied to chair along with Valentin in a warehouse while Cassandra hid at Anna’s house waiting for Finn.

Anna uses her metal bracelet to break free and knocks out Erich when he returns and thinks she has escaped.

Cassandra is found at Anna’s house unconscious after being injected with a syringe. She is taken into custody and being transferred to a medical facility. Jordan tells Anna and Finn that Erich has been apprehended and he confessed to injecting Cassandra with the syringe.

Erich’s story was that he found out Cassandra was planning to kill Anna and Valentin and he was horrified so he went to Anna’s house to tell her he didn’t want to work for her anymore.

Cassandra attacked Erich but he overpowered her and injected her with the opioid instead. When Anna got home, he hid until she was talking to Finn before he took Cassandra and left. Erich left Cassandra in an alley. All of this story was a lie.

On January 10, Jordan questions Valentin about his recent visit in jail to Erich. She suspects he paid off Erich to confess but she had no proof. Valentin indeed had offered a lot of money to convince Erich to falsely confess after Jim Harvey of Niagara Equities came to Port Charles to follow former mayor Janice Lomax's idea of the Charles Street redevelopment project after her resignation as Mayor.
