Storylines[]
On January 2, 2020; a woman comes to Sam's Penthouse and introduced herself as Sam's new parole officer named Dolores Maloney after Hayden Barnes left Port Charles and was nowhere to be found, Margaux Dawson resigned as district attorney, and the presumed death of Cassandra Pierce as Dolores became a temporary replacement for Dante Falconeri because of his PTSD since their names start with the letter D. She worked at the PCPD and was there to make sure Sam was well aware of her parole guidelines. Dolores wasted no time giving Sam her parole rules which include not to be around guns or alcohol. As Sam goes to tell Dolores about being around Jason, she gets in a rude argument with Sam insisting that Sam stay away from Jason or go back to prison without parole. So Sam comes to agreement and then is granted a pardon for choosing to stay away from Jason for her kids sake. Then Dolores leaves but Sam is left heartbroken as Jason walks through the door with Ric there. Sam breaks up with Jason and says this will be the last time they "will ever see each other" as Sam told Jason she is not willing to go back to prison for her kids and lose her parole because Dolores told her that she is not to be with Jason. Then afterwards Sam and Jason break up with a kiss and say their goodbyes as Ric helps walk Jason out of the penthouse. Sam and Jason hold their hands up with the "I love you" sign that they learned when Sam was deaf then Jason leaves with Ric and Sam is heartbroken as Dolores gained Sam's father Julian Jerome as her friend and ally telling her that Julian is a better man than his ex-son-in-law Jason as Sam will have to spend more time with her father Julian than she will of Jason while Jason goes to start dating other women.
On February 12, Sam has just seen Jason in a patient room at General Hospital. Dolores stops Sam in the middle of the hallway to tell her they have a problem two weeks after three separate shootouts occurred by Cyrus Renault and one week after Sonny visited Cyrus. On February 13, Dolores wants to know why Sam is at the hospital. She tries to cover that she was meeting Jason but Dolores wants to go in the room that Sam was just in. Hayden's brother-in-law Franco Baldwin stops Dolores from walking into the hospital room that Jason is in after Dolores gained Nelle Benson as her new friend and ally as well as Sam gained Dolores' boss Cyrus Renault from Seattle in the Pacific Northwest as her new enemy.
On February 28, Dolores has not yet heard that she had a brother named Jeffrey.
On March 5, Spinelli tells Sam that he discovered that Dolores has a burner phone and has been calling someone every day for months, but Spinelli has no proof and only suspicion that Dolores was working with Cyrus Renault one week after the kidnapping of Cameron Webber and Trina Robinson occurred by Franco Walker under Cyrus Renault's orders in revenge for the late Cesar Faison, the late Hank Archer aka Shiloh, and the late Cassandra Pierce.
On August 10, Felix DuBois warns Sam, who is with Jason in the ICU after his motorcycle accident, that Dolores wants to see Jason. Felix isn’t sure how long Mary can delay Dolores. Sam calls Valentin Cassadine and agrees to his condition to get her a more agreeable parole officer if she lets him be the proxy for her children's' ELQ shares until they are 18.
On August 11, Sam signs a written agreement with Valentin. Later Dolores catches her in the room with Jason while Cyrus Renault was interested in the hospital while GH was facing a fiscal crisis and Cyrus had already established the Cyrus Renault Foundation for Social Justice. A man comes to the door and tells Dolores she is no longer Sam’s parole officer. He reveals that he is Owen Anderson and will now be Sam’s new parole officer. He allows Sam to stay with Jason for as long as she needs before he leaves. Two days later, she was later replaced by Sienna. One month later, Valentin's ex-cousin-in-law Britt Westbourne becomes the new Chief of Staff at General Hospital with Cassandra Bryant as the new Head Nurse at General Hospital.
On April 6, 2023; Dolores' friend Linc Brown was arrested at The Nurses' Ball by Det. Dante Falconeri for his predatory behavior, identity theft, complicity, and his collusion with Dolores Maloney, Cyrus Renault, Victor Cassadine, and The Hook who was later revealed to be Heather Webber.
On October 12, Dolores' friend Cyrus Renault was released from prison which gives her good news as he had been given a second chance thanks to Judge Edward Sinclair. She now listens to the KZPC's radio show "Searching with Cyrus".
On October 30, 2024; Sam McCall died from a post-surgery heart attack at General Hospital after her surgery to be the donor to save Lulu Spencer.
