Storylines[]

On January 7, 2020; Sonny Corinthos learned from Gio, an employee of his, that a truck had been hijacked. Sonny made it clear that he didn't want to deal with those people since he wanted the Port Charles Police Department to know he was a legitimate businessman since all they would find in that truck is coffee. A few days later, it was later revealed that the truck had been found, abandoned, and torched after Hayden Barnes left Port Charles again and was nowhere to be found and Margaux Dawson resigned as district attorney and left town.

On February 4, Cyrus is first mentioned. Sonny questions the captured gunman and then Sonny allows Brent to beat up the gunman after he won't say who he is working for. Later Jason walks by and sees that Brent has been shot and killed. Jason is also shot at by the escaped gunman and they fire at each other. One of Jason's bullets hits the gunman and Jason asks the gunman to tell him who he works for since he is dying. The gunman says "Cyrus Renault" and Jason has a worried look on his face after Drew Cain's presumed death.

On February 5, 2020; Jason tells Sonny and Carly that the gunman said he was working for Cyrus Renault, a drug runner who normally operates in the Pacific Northwest. Cyrus has been operating from Thompson Penitentiary for the last ten years but Brick discovered that Cyrus was secretly transferred to Pentonville Penitentiary recently where Hank Archer aka Shiloh, Sam McCall, his female counterpart Cassandra Pierce, and his henchwoman Nelle Benson were at and currently where serial killers Ryan Chamberlain and Cyrus' cellmate Paul Hornsby are at. Sonny said he has never dealt with Cyrus and only knows him by reputation. Later, Sonny stops by Pentonville to visit Cyrus.

On April 6, Cyrus was released from Pentonville with a full exoneration and is an attempt to replace Sam McCall as Cyrus gained new allies and friends like the Attorney General and Gabriel Burke. Leaving his friend Paul all by himself until Brad Cooper became Paul's new cellmate.

On April 23, Cyrus gets interviewed by Lulu Spencer from The Invader tabloid while he's doing good at keeping Jason and Sam apart.

On April 27-28, Cyrus and Franco were seen on Pier 55 during a meeting with Sonny and Jason. Jason and Franco almost start fighting a few times but Cyrus holds back Franco. Cyrus and Franco are next seen at the Metro Court Hotel together.

On May 15, Cyrus' henchwoman Nelle blackmailed Julian Jerome into marrying her into marrying her.

On the week of August 3, Cyrus talked with Portia at GH and referred to Trina. Laura stepped up to defend Portia. She later saw Cyrus talking to Tom, a GH board member. Tom ignored Laura’s insistence that Cyrus is a criminal and he quickly walked away from her. Laura asked why Cyrus was interested in the hospital. He said that he heard GH was facing a fiscal crisis and he had already established the Cyrus Renault Foundation for Social Justice, but everyone rejected the idea including General Hospital Chief of Staff Monica Quartermaine much as to Sonny and Jason's dismay. Laura told him that the money needed will come from ELQ.

On August 11, his friend/henchwoman Dolores Maloney was no longer Sam's parole officer as Owen Anderson became Sam's new parole officer who was much friendlier than Dolores and has a disdain of Cyrus Renault. However, on August 13, due to Cyrus's contribution, he became Chairman of the Board at the hospital because of Valentin Cassadine becoming the new CEO of ELQ who had secretly bought up 50% of their shares and decided to stop funding the hospital.

On August 19, Cyrus makes his first appearance at the Nurses' Ball for the first time after becoming the chairman of the board at General Hospital and is the only time to make an appearance since he bores an uncanny resemblance to Cesar Faison.

On September 3, Cyrus has Monica Quartermaine and Bobbie Spencer fired from the hospital due to the lawsuit involving lost paperwork for Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos' surgery in revenge for Nelle Benson and Dolores Maloney.

Afterwards, his appoints Britt Westbourne as the new Chief of Staff and adopts her as his daughter after the death of her biological father Cesar Faison over two years ago and the imprisonment of her biological mother Liesl Obrecht. He also appointed Cassandra Bryant as the new Head Nurse.

Unbeknownst, there was his own two children Andrew and Liz.

On June 4, Cyrus was arrested. His children Andrew and Liz celebrated along with the PCPD officer Elisha Adams and Ellen Scully.

On August 31, Cyrus was questioned about Liesl Obrecht's disappearance. Cyrus knew that he wanted to get back at her for being threatened behind his back, but he denied any involvement in her disappearance and had an alibi. His alibi was confirmed.

On October 22, his former accomplice and associate Peter August was arrested on Cassadine Island.

On November 3, Cyrus was visited by Sonny. One week later, his friend and music producer Linc Brown returned to Port Charles after Drew was revealed to be alive. Then his enemy Drew Cain returned to Port Charles and went to Sam's apartment after getting cleaned up and shaved two weeks later.

On November 30; Cyrus called Sonny from Flatland on a cell phone he acquired from some of his contacts after Drew Cain and Liesl Obrecht have returned Port Charles, Peter August's arrest, and over two weeks after Linc Brown left The Savoy. Cyrus revealed that he still has some contacts and he went to "offer his condolences" because he heard about Jason being presumed dead on Cassadine Island after a shootout with Peter August who was in revenge for his later father Cesar Faison, Nelle Benson, and Cyrus himself.

On December 20, Laura visited Cyrus in Flatland and Cyrus was happy to see her. Laura told Cyrus that she's not running anymore and won't let him keep her from her family for one more minute. Cyrus asked if she'd been away and Laura said that a hit-woman was sent to kill both her and Martin at a safehouse plus Martin had been strangled. Cyrus appeared to be concerned and asked if Martin was okay. Laura said that Martin was fine and Cyrus seemed to be relieved. Laura wasn't happy that Cyrus was acting innocent, but Cyrus revealed that he didn't try to have her and Martin killed.

Cyrus said that he deserved Laura's anger and mistrust since he was on a dark path and he had a lot to atone for unlike the now deceased Cesar Faison. When Laura asked what he was talking about, Cyrus revealed that his life is no longer his own and he gave it to a higher power, which made Laura laugh and Cyrus smile. Laura was skeptical but Cyrus revealed that he got sick with a cold which turned into pneumonia and said that while at first the guards ignored him, they later treated him when he had a fever. Cyrus revealed that when he was in pain, he begged for help and an angel came to him, which gave him peace and when he woke up, his fever was gone. Cyrus then asked for a Bible and began to study it, so his life now belongs to God.

Laura didn't believe Cyrus and went to leave, but Cyrus stopped her and warned her that she's in danger. Laura sat back down and said that they were in familiar territory, but Cyrus said that if she focused on him then that would leave room for her real adversary to strike. Laura wondered about Sonny and Mr. Buscema since they previously came to visit him and Cyrus said that he felt a pull to his old life but he chose the light. Laura didn't believe that Cyrus had found God since she believed he was incapable of love and caring about anyone other than himself but Cyrus disagreed with her and said he would pray for her. Cyrus warned her to keep an eye on the serpent in the garden and promised her that he didn't hire anyone to kill her and Martin.

Meanwhile, it was revealed that the hit-woman who was sent to the safe-house was not working for Cyrus, she was actually working for Victor Cassadine, who was recently revealed to be alive after having thought to have been killed in 2014. It was revealed that Victor (not Cyrus) had been targeting them and he sent the hit-woman to make an attempt to kill Laura and Martin in order to draw them out of hiding.

On October 3, Cyrus found his great-nephew Spencer Cassadine almost being attacked by a Pentonville inmate named Steve Book and he stepped in to save him since his former henchwoman Sienna Colby is now working with Grant Smoltz. After Cyrus quoted the Bible to Book about punishment for those who commit violence, Book told Spencer that he got lucky this time but they won't be interrupted next time. After Steve left, Spencer told Cyrus that he had things under control but Cyrus said it didn't look like it from where he stood. When Spencer asked Cyrus what he owed him for the save, Cyrus said he wanted nothing since they're family and he would have stepped in to save any fellow child of God.

Spencer didn't trust Cyrus, but Cyrus assured Spencer that he had nothing to fear from him. Cyrus revealed to Spencer that word was out in Pentonville that he has protection but there were some inmates like Steve Book who didn't care since they had nothing to lose including Hilda Dorsey who was onto Alexis a year earlier. When Cyrus revealed that he had ways of dealing with people like that, Spencer jokingly asked "Baptism?". Cyrus told Spencer that Pentonville was dangerous and he needs protection so he promised Spencer he was there for him. Cyrus also told Spencer that all he had to do was call.

Victor then came to the prison library and Spencer was surprised to see him. Cyrus went to leave Spencer and Victor to visit, but Victor told Cyrus to stay and said he has news on Spencer's future. Cyrus was later replaced by Drew Cain, The Hook who was later revealed to be Heather Webber, and Linc Brown as Cyrus denied any involvement in the Hook attacks as he had an alibi which confirmed it.

On April 6; his friend Linc was arrested at The Nurses' Ball by Det. Dante Falconeri for his predatory behavior, identity theft, complicity, and his collusion with Dolores Maloney, Cyrus Renault, Victor Cassadine, and The Hook.

On June 29; Cyrus will be meeting Drew Cain for the first time in person at Pentonville as he says that he knows him after The Hook attacks, Linc's arrest, and Victor's death via drone strike to The Haunted Star by the WSB.

On July 3, Cyrus meets Drew Cain for the first time in person at Pentonville giving the fact that Drew had been missing in action.

Later on after Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt checked Cyrus' vitals and all, Cyrus grabbed his wrist and cryptically revealed that he knows about his family.

On August 21 back in Pentonville, Cyrus saw that Drew was out of solitary and said how he wouldn't forget that he saved his life. When Cyrus said he owed Drew, Drew said he owed him nothing but Cyrus swore on his Bible that he'd find a way to repay him for everything.

Later on; Cyrus went to the shower room and thanked God as he showered and gave himself a clean shave and a haircut to make him look less like Faison and more like fellow inmate Johnny Zacchara 25-30 years later as well as to bore an uncanny resemblance to the late Victor Cassadine before meeting with Austin revealing that he's the mysterious boss who Austin and his cousin Mason Gatlin work for.

On October 13, Cyrus was released from prison and is driven to freedom leaving Drew Cain stay in Cyrus' place as Drew later became Johnny Zacchara's new cellmate as Cyrus is now ready for revenge for Dr. Damon Montague after Dr. Montague's arrest.

On February 2, Cyrus heard the news of his great nephew Spencer about what happened in France before his nephew Nikolas returned with Ace after Esme's presumed death.

On February 5, his nephew Nikolas was arrested knowing that he was a wanted fugitive after he and Ace returned.

Two days later on February 7, he attends his great nephew Spencer's memorial service after FBI agent John Cates previously Jagger Cates returned to Port Charles 16 years later.

On April 18; Cyrus was last seen before being since replaced by Jack Brennan, FBI agent John Cates, Madison Yeung, and associate publisher of The Invader Adrian DeWitt who later becomes acting Editor-in-Chief.

On August 20, Cyrus was visiting his hospitalized niece Lulu at Silver Water Aftercare when Kevin and Laura are about to visit her.

Now a free man, Cyrus spends his time preaching the Lord's word and offering prayers for sick patients, although many citizens of Port Charles remain unconvinced of his reformation.

On September 19, Cyrus came to General Hospital as he visited Lulu again. He also visited Isaiah Gannon as they talked about the NFL as revealing that Cyrus is a fan of the Seattle Seahawks before the death of Sam McCall a month later on October 30 and later replaced by her new enemy warlord Jenz Sidwell who became a wanted fugitive for blowing up the warehouse with a bomb on November 8 which made Sonny Corinthos furious.

On November 20, Cyrus came to the hospital room with his niece Lulu Spencer after waking up after the memorial service of the late Sam McCall.

On December 9, a flashback reveals that Cyrus delivered the fatal overdose of digitalis to Sam McCall's IV; killing her in revenge for the late Cesar Faison, the late Hank Archer aka "Shiloh", the late Cassandra Pierce, Sam's former stepmother the late Nelle Benson, Sam's former parole officer Dolores Maloney, the late Peter August, and music producer Linc Brown before Sidwell's return over a week later on December 17.
